Matthew Shardlake 7 books. At jus over pages I thought this would last me til xmas Shardlake is a wonderful character who has grown and improved as a character through the series. If it fails, they could all lose their heads. After pages I realized that I accidentally read this novel out of order, I had yet revelatuon read Sovereignhowever it was too good of a story revelstion too late to stop.
Already women were painting their faces with lead to kill off the top layer of skin to mimic the paleness of the purest of Englishwomen. Moreover, now Barak acquired a partner in the feisty Tamasin.
But this time the object of his affections is resisting. Shard lake is becoming stronger, he is more and more successful and is starting to be more commanding of people, and rightly so. So, time for the review. Revelation is no exception.
Shardlake follows a trail of horrific murders that are igniting frenzied talk of witchcraft and demonic posession. They’re long, over pages, but they read quickly.
If there is anything I can point to as a negative with this book – a negative for me at least – it would be the amount of religious discussion inserted into the story. Mathew Shardlake is a lawyer working with a couple whose son has been sent to Bedlam because he refuses to stop revelqtion on the streets and Mathew is trying to get his conditions improved and has hooked him up with his doctor.
Violent clashes of radical religious groups; tax increases to fund foreign wars; whales washed up in the Thames; scandalous public care of the mentally ill; even references to a man killing prostitutes in East Anglia.
They fear that their son sannsom be harshly treated in the asylum, and may face death by burning if he attempts to leave.

Victims are selected and given horrific deaths in accordance with these Biblical teachings. Another triumph in this series. Sanom novel, with its mix of religious fervor, superstition, hysteria and murder, had many parallels with The Name of the Rose and will appeal to readers of historical fiction and mystery genres. Sansom has been consulted on the series, which is in the final stages of negotiation. Shardlake has been dubbed ‘the Tudor Morse’; like Morse, he is solitary, cerebral, occasionally flawed and driven by a belief in an ideal of justice that stands above the rveelation rivalries of his profession. Reveltaion today I was reading about a young woman who had used a lip sucking device to create the pout of a celebrity whose name escapes me.

The relevance of history never ceases to amaze me. I had a chuckle. Matthew, yet again, is going to be dragged into these great events. They had less knowledge of the brain and its possible disorders than they did about the body, and that’s saying something.
